Airports & Internet

So hello from Chicago O'Hare airport, where I'm sitting at one of those "recharge your laptop" stations with the really uncomfortable seats. My poor laptop battery is fried and barely holds a charge anymore, thus the need to plug in to be able to say hello to all of you! So I will endure the metal seat for a few minutes while I have internet access to fill you in on the last few days in an open field where the WiFi was lacking.

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday I was at Breathe Festival 2009 in Marengo, Ohio. There were about 850 people who braved the long dirt roads to camp out in middle of Ohio. The goal was spend a weekend together worshiping God, seeking to know Him more. The conference is hosted by Joshua House, which is the young adult ministry of the Vineyard of Columbus, OH. It was an absolute joy and privilege to be part of the event, along with guest speakers Mike Erre and Jay Pathak, and other worship leaders Sam Lane and Jeff Anderson.

I have a few pics I will post soon...but you can also check out the Twitter updates at http://twitter.com/shericarr and "TwitPics" I posted along the way. There's even a 20 second video clip from worship the last day, though my little phone does not have the best mic for capturing loud rock music.

I have found that after a few days of slowing down and getting away from airports and internet that I am more relaxed than I have been in a while. I think I need to make it a point to do something like that more often, in some form or another.

I hope to stay in "vacation mode" as long as I can, and am really excited to board my flight to Seattle in a few minutes and to spend a few days visiting with friends and family in Washington. This is typically a beautiful time of year weather-wise as well, and I am looking forward to soaking up the mountain air and ocean views whenever I can!

I was hoping to give you more detail than that, but alas my sore bum (already!) and empty stomach are telling me it's time to grab a quick sandwich before they start boarding. I hope to debrief more soon.

Hope you're all having a great Monday so far. Here's to a great week ahead! May yours be blessed!

Sheri
